In the Press

Here come the girls….Meg Fenn on BBC news

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/8278919.stm

Apparently there is an army of business mums in Brighton set to take over the city. Brilliant. My children were ace and I’m so proud of them – suffering through one of my ‘work’ things! Actually I think they were secretly just as pleased as I am about the news piece. Have a watch.

Meg Fenn in Easy Living Magazine

Calling all mums with an entrepreneurial streak, National Business Mum Week is coming to Sussex!

This year sees the first ever Business Mum Week, a week of activities and meet ups across the UK. This week is dedicated to women who balance business with family life on a daily basis to ensure a better future for their families. Mum of three Meghan Fenn, in Worthing, is ensuring the mums of East and West Sussex are included.

Meg herself will be hosting a networking meeting on Thursday the 8th October from 10am to 2pm at 50 Westcourt Road for a day of play for the kids and networking for mums. If the kids are at school or in nursery, just come on your own! Free copies of the latest Business Mum’s Journal will be available for any mum who has ever wanted to run her own business from home and there will be an opportunity to meet (and question!) other ‘mumpreneurs’ like Meg, in a friendly and relaxed environment. A light lunch will be provided by The Sandwitch Bar, Bakery & Deli* of Worthing who have kindly offered their sandwich platters free of charge. Plus, Victoria of Caterpillar Music* will be running a music session for the little ones!

In the lead-up to Business Mum Week, Meg, as the Sussex co-ordinator, is also looking for mums across the county to hold their own events. Full support is available and it promises to be a great week for uniting local women in business.

Meghan Fenn, of White Ochre Design, Better Days Out and organiser of Sussex Business Mum Week says: “Business Mum Week is a great initiative and I’m happy to do everything I can to unite the business mums of Worthing and East & West Sussex and ensure more local women with children are aware of the family friendly working options out there. This is a great way to both highlight the work of our mum owned businesses in and around Sussex and support the growth of more.”

MumsClub founder, Jane Hopkins, says: “This is the perfect time for Business Mum Week. With so many redundancies and the future potential for job losses, it is an important time for families to have options. Being self employed is the perfect way to combine family life with generating a second income. Women now have the freedom to get paid to do something they love. Great for household finances, great for self esteem, great for work-life balance. Starting up from home is low cost, low risk and incredibly rewarding. The dedication of our local mums has been astounding. Credit crunch? What credit crunch?”

Testimonials :: White Ochre Design

Testimonials

Meg has an uncanny skill of absorbing the big message you wish to portray in your website design. With only a verbal brief and one site visit she managed to embed herself in our brand, our target audience and key features we wished to portray. It was a pleasure to see the graphical construction of our website run so smoothly and under time pressures, she was quick too! If you’re looking for a web designer who is easily accessible when you really need it and someone who has a genuine desire to learn about your company and grow their knowledge base of your industry look no further. Pleasure working with you Meg 🙂
Ashley Smart, Harbour Park Ltd UK (view the case study)

This is a third time I have had the pleasure of working with Meg on putting together a website – she really can turn her hand to company’s needs! Meg’s real selling point as a web designer is that she is also a graphic designer. I know that when I talk to her about any new business that needs a website / logo, she will come up with something inspirational and eye-catching and it will stand out from the crowd. Meg achieved this brilliantly with TheFundingMentor.com logo which has a target symbol in it – this explains exactly what the company does – targets funding!

I have once again really enjoyed working with Meg whose continued patience with me and my numerous queries, knows no bounds. Meg is also incredibly responsive and works to tight deadlines and turns around the work very quickly. Equally as important, White Ochre Design is great value for money. My new website is up and running and the business cards are being handed out – I get a lot of questions asking who designed them – I am delighted to recommend Meg and White Ochre Design to my colleagues and clients.”

Helen Scott, Founder of TheFundingMentor (view the case study)

Meg has helped me no end since I launched my cupcake business last year. She managed to provide the perfect logo by deciphering my scattered thoughts and ramblings! We are now working together on a website (coming soon!). Despite living in London, I didn’t even consider going anywhere else for my website. Meg is once again patience personified, helping to turn my ideas into something tangible. Couldn’t recommend enough!”
Deborah Petrou, Oakwood Cupcakes (view the case study)

Since the first time I met Meg, she has been patient to my various musings and enquiries regarding new websites and business ideas. Always prepared to listen and give an honest answer in a language I can understand, Meg has a very gentle but professional manner which would put anyone at ease. After much research and more musing, my new business was born and Meg managed to translate my design concept perfectly and I could not be more thrilled with the result! After a 1-2-1 WordPress tutorial with Meg, I was able to take control of my blog and website content. Meg has been a constant source of support and has been very generous with her time and skills to help me with further developments in the design context of my business.

Meg is creative, generous, very knowledgeable and a wonderful person to have on your side!
Dawn, Dawn Gracie Sales Coaching (view the case study)

Meg recently re-designed my website for me giving it a fresh new look! I was so pleased that she completely understood and designed what I wanted; she made some great suggestions of her own and made my site even better than I expected! Thanks Meg!
Jennifer, Holy Cow!

Creative, efficient and incredibly patient. When Meg designed and built our website for Viva Paella, she immediately grasped our concept.  She’s given our website a fresh, clean look and offers a wealth of expertise on how to integrate social media for novices like us!  I have no hesitations in recommending her. She’s a pleasure to work with, as well as being very versatile, and very hard-working – a rare combination.  Thank you Meg!
Melissa, Viva Paella

Pop up banner arrived. Colour production is superb, really looks good in large size- what an eye catcher. Thank you so much Meg, your art work is excellent.
Jenni, Worthing Community Partnership

I have used Meg as a graphic designer and web designer, and I can say that her work is outstanding – she listens to the brief, then produces something that always goes beyond my expectations. She is easy to work with, fast and efficient, responsive to my last-minute changes, and has very reasonable rates. I can strongly recommend her and will continue to use her for more ambitious projects.
Paul Emmerson, PaulEmmerson.com

White Ochre Design is professional, creative and offers great customer support! The design aspects are complimented with a great understanding of the behind the scenes software and bolt on options!
Nicky Chisholm, Mums in Biz

Many thanks for all your time, prompt response and patience producing a website that I am proud of.
Cecily Brotherton, Freedom Life Coaching

I have been extremely impressed with the responsiveness, creative ideas and all round service. I would absolutely use you again and have no hesitation in recommending you. My only comment is that I think you charge too little!!
Rona Posselt, FireFly Partners

Meg at White Ochre Design has provided edICT Consulting with an excellent website www.edictconsulting.co.uk. Her professionalism, expertise and attention to detail has been exceptional. Meg was very supportive and responsive throughout and we enjoyed the whole process. White Ochre Design has enabled us to re-brand our business and provide an essential marketing tool for our business needs. We would strongly recommend White Ochre Design.
Helen Scott, edICT Consulting

Meg turns around my requests for website changes or updates at the speed of lightning, and is always on hand to answer any technical queries I may
have, too. She grasped the concept of Red Hot Ruby immediately and she’s a joy to work with. I’m not sure she’d say the same about me but I couldn’t
recommend her more highly. She’s ace.
Juliette Wills, Red Hot Ruby

A fantastic web design and management service! Friendly and efficient service, working to your needs. Highly recommended.
Amelia R

Quick, efficient, creative and very friendly. From just looking at my business card, White Ochre created an e-commerce site for me that is regularly commented upon for it’s ease of use and creative elements. Meg is very approachable and thorough, and has helped me through the online process of running an e-commerce website.
Lyndsay Sketchley at Pretty Beautiful

WOW, Meg is so quick and really gets what we are trying to do – she’s done a really terrific job – we sing her praises to everyone.
Coffee Bags PTY Ltd.

I was on quite a tight deadline and asked Meg if she’d be able to work with me with the limited time I had to get my website up and running. She immediately got to work and right away captured the essence and tone of my business. She looked at my business card and launch invitation and with her creativity and talent was able to blend the message and style into a website that speaks volumes for my business!! It is rare to find a company that keeps the flair and creative spirit in their work while also operating in a professional manner.  Thank you for my beautiful finished product.
Michelle Beard Wellness

Meg is responsible for the most recent upgrade to BeadMerrily’s online look. I found Meg to be excellent in all ways; she listens to my needs, adapted my original look and implemented a fresh and attractive look for me, integrating all the elements of the original BeadMerrily into an easy to use format. And she’s lovely to work with too!
Merry at BeadMerrily

We have a good working relationship with White Ochre Design and we intend to keep it that way. We always refer customers to White Ochre Design if they want something doing design wise that we simply do not have the skills for. In our dealing with White Ochre, we have found Meg to be friendly, polite, approachable and just a really lovely person to work with.
Ihelm-Enterprises Ltd.

Meg is an absolute pleasure to work with start to finish! Somehow she manages to make you feel like you are her only client, when that is certainly not the case! Meg was so responsive and flexible, nothing was too much trouble. As a result I have got exactly the logo design and website that I envisaged for my Life Coaching business, The Difference. I have also engaged Meg to work on the design for another business idea and she has already produced an amazing logo for Minted Refreshments as well. Meg is a great partner to have on your team!.
Heidi, The Difference

The service is so quick and personal – I would recommend White Ochre Design without blinking an eye!
Tanya, Nutritional Values

A nice surprise: The other day I was waiting for my daughter to come out of Brownies so I picked up a local Worthing magazine and started to lazily browse through it. Wow! There in front of my eyes was a logo I had created for the Active Age Newsletter! It looked stunning.

Active Age is a newsletter about what’s going on in Worthing for over 60s who enjoy being active, either physically, mentally or both. It is produced quarterly by Worthing Community Partnership (website by White Ochre Design) and can be accessed on their website www.worthingcommunitypartnership.co.uk

Thank you for browsing our latest designs. We are very busy getting lots more websites designed and up and running. Don’t forget to Like our Facebook Page too.

And for American Mother’s Day this year, it seems my Bringing Up Brits blog is getting noticed. See this article on Mother’s Day Around the World.

Just wanted to say a very warm welcome to Jane Hames, the new Mumpreneurs Networking Club Lewes manager! White Ochre Design has recently launched Jane’s website for her business, Glide Training. www.glidetraining.com

Next time you are on Facebook, check out The Mumpreneurs Networking Club’s new timeline and click on the Gossip Tab. This will really inspire you to network online by promoting yourself and others. It’s so much fun and fulfills that all important task of spending time each day on your own business (or so I’m told!). The sales lady (and she is SO much more than a sales lady!), Dawn Gracie once told me that you should spend at least 45 minutes every day on your own business. For my company I tend to spend all my time on other people’s businesses so this is a great way to promote myself and support my clients, fellow mumpreneurs and friends.

One of our very lovely clients, Cecily Brotherton, is featured in Woman and Home Magazine in April! See her new-look website, designed by White Ochre Design, for more details www.freedomlifecoaching.co.uk

White Ochre Design will be on annual leave until April 16th. Upcoming projects include designing a website for Oakwood Cupcakes, FBS Sussex and giving a fresh new look to The Mumpreneurs Networking Club website, Jo Wise.com and Ihelm-Enterprises Ltd, and much more – lots of exciting work lined up! Have a wonderful Easter everyone.

We are very busy here at White Ochre HQ and trying to get ready for Christmas as well – this is no small feat in a household full of youngsters (and oldies) excited about the holidays.

Coming very soon… new e-commerce site launch: themotherandbabyshop.co.uk.

Thanks for reading,

Meg
